Alto Peak Experience | Year-End Climb (11|24-25|2018)

A Sweet Pack of Smiles

Smile, that's what we got before the climb and so it was after. This was our original plan (Alto) to experience before conquering Mt. Halcon last May 2018. Mt. Aminduen Also known as  Alto Peak with  a height of approximately 1,332+ metres above sea level and is the highest peak in Eastern Visayas with 6/10 difficulty. Boom! The team consist of different freelance mountaineers, from Kalit2x Mountaineers , Pack Boy Adventures and etc. headed by William Gabi, Kalit2x Team Lead. We may come from a different group but we have a one goal. Eat together, laugh together and climb together.

Day 1:
20 total participants coming from Cebu at the jump off point of Brgy. Cabintan + our 4 guides. From left (Bryan, 3 guides then the 4th one who took the photo, Boss Rim, Carlos who was the youngest, Richard, Yuki, Gian, Archie, Girlie, Jennica, Vincent, Sabel, Zhet then going below beside me Ian, Shiela, Mafe, Master Godfrey, Nyor William, Carlo and above Jed & Arthur)

But before reaching the jump off, Master Godfrey took us to Lake Danao which wasn't on our itinerary and surprisingly it was a worth it side trip to all of us.

And look at that two poor thing who immediately jumped to the water for a refreshment from hangover during travel. And oh, Richard also enjoyed the cold fresh water from the lake.

And of course that fresh shell from the lake we bought and cooked by ate in that store plus that (i forgot the name) dragon egg fruit like in GOT. Lol :)

Start Trek:

Girlie, buhii lng sya pero sa pisi kapyot jud buhata! | Right: Daddy William with Kuya Carlos taking some rest after a few assaults.

The amazing view of Lake Janagdan

That SMILE after reaching the peak of Lake Janagdan and knowing that we're almost there to the lake for rest, lunch and of course our coffee break.
Good shot pal, I don't know who took the shot since Sabel was ahead of the trail from us but nice one. Keep that smile on your face girl. .

Look at that beauty of the earth. Awesome clearing, fresh water, green surroundings and fresh.
That one is Alto Peak, you can actually view that while descending from Lake Janagdan to camp site. So lovely.

Welcome to the CAMPSITE

Linat-ang pork ribs and manok halang2x for our dinner. And that obvious photo above for our breakfast. Thanks for all our cook for making our tummy full after that day of assaults and down hills..
Since butane was prohibited to carry from Cebu to Ormoc and no one was selling refill at the city, we just contacted Ms. Jane (one of Kuya Prido's(driver) friend - Ms. Jane to secure us at least 5 butane who has a store near at the jump off to be use for our cooking.
Early PASKO sa ALTO, a leafless tree  was beautified and made it so alive after Sabel & Bryan's designing skills, well thank you guys. This Christmas lights also served our lamp of the campsite.

Day 2:

The SUMMIT:

13 happy faces greeted the summit of Alto. Some shed their tears of joy since it was our first time for this peak. Only 7 who were not able to reached the summit due to some uncontrolled circumstance.
A standard 2 hrs assault heading to the summit and 2 hrs descend but you can make it less than 4 hrs in total depending on your pacing.

Descend:

From top left Master Godfrey & Boss Rim, Arthur, Sabel, Jed & Carlo & lastly Bryan. Who's your bet for the best facial reaction among these photo? I bet Arthur will bring home the crown. Look at him lol :). .

A quick photo while rain shower started to pour during break camp.

We took our lunch and coffee break after 2 hrs descend from the summit then straight for break camp while a heavy rain enjoyed joining with us halfway of our break camp which lead us in a hurry going down to Heaven's Peak.

Isn't it so lovely? Look at those mud which made our shoes into brown boots. There is an on going construction will be soon a way to ease access if you wanted to experience Alto Peak without Lake Janagdan in your itinerary. Just a few hike and assaults for a day and you'll already there but I suggest to see the beauty of the lake coz all the pain will paid off once you're there.

@HEAVEN's PEAK

This place are full of wild flowers, a perfect place to relax with a full blast of nature with in the surroundings.

Where we stayed Sunday night after our climb. No rooms but there's enough lawn around where we pitched our tents. The rest house have a complete kitchen facilities where you can cook, a shower rooms & comfort rooms.

And of course, a dinner with "3 bisayang manok tinibook" paired with a cold beer was really a perfect match. So come join us and dig in!

See You Soon Alto :) . . .

6 will be leaving on a Sunday afternoon while 10 of us will be staying at Heaven's Peak for the night. . .
A quick groupie with Manong Kikoy (one of our kind and smiling guide) before heading home. .
Videos will be uploaded soon :) . . . .

Wanna know how-when & where?
